Alessandra Capasso, MS, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Whitney Russell-Stabile, LPC-S, CED-S
I can remember going on my first diet at 11 years old. I was hoping that if I became a little bit leaner, shrank my thighs a little bit smaller, and got a 6-pack stomach, I would be a better competitive soccer player and person.
Ultimately, I believed that if I shrank myself, I would be more loveable.
My mental health and relationship with food and my body were extremely complicated during years of treatment and therapy. They dominated my life. I avoided real connection with others and pushed my love for people aside for so long, until I eventually decided that I was sick of letting my eating disorder and mental health issues control my life.
I know from personal experience that healing takes work to undo a lot unhealthy thinking patterns and beliefs. Being able to experience the well-being I do now after that work, I want to help others go through their own healing journey. You might feel stuck, but I promise, you aren’t.

My qualifications
Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Development
I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. I also went to graduate school at Texas Woman’s University and graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Development. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas (#88121), supervised by Whitney Russell-Stabile, LPC-S, CED-S. I am also working on my Certified Eating Disorder Specialist certification and am a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp).
I have experience with crisis intervention, as I’ve worked at higher levels of care. I have worked at an inpatient psychiatric level of care for adults, as well as higher levels of care for eating disorder treatment such as Eating Recovery Center and Eating Disorder Solutions. I also have experience as the primary therapist at a Changes Outpatient of Frisco, a partial hospitalization program for adolescents with mental health issues.
Let’s Get Personal
When I’m not at work, you can usually find me at home cooking up a new recipe or spending time outside with my dog, Zara. I am a huge advocate for self-care, so I enjoy spending my evenings at a local Yoga studio in hopes to expand my practice and eventually become a Registered Yoga Teacher. I also love to travel, especially to places where I can put my scuba diver certification to use and explore the depths of the ocean!
