JAmala Christopher, RD, CEDS

I’m a weight-neutral dietitian who helps kids, adolescents and adults move away from food rules, all-or-nothing thinking, and shame so they can build a more peaceful and nourishing relationship with food and their bodies.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. Food can be nourishing without becoming another measure of your worth. My goal is to offer a space where you can be honest, curious, and imperfect—and still make meaningful progress.

My qualifications

Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science, with an emphasis in dietetics, from Texas Woman’s University and my master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition through UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Coordinated Clinical Nutrition program. I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian as well as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS).

I have more than five years of experience supporting people with a wide range of nutritional needs, including three years working in higher levels of eating disorder care. My own recovery experience also informs the empathy, honesty, and hope I bring to this work.

I use motivational interviewing, active listening, reflection, intuitive eating, and Health at Every Size® principles to meet each client where they are. I value collaboration with therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team so that care feels coordinated and consistent.

Nutrition is rarely black and white. Together, we can replace rigid rules with practical tools, reconnect you with your body’s needs, and create an approach to food that fits your real life.

Let’s Get Personal

I’m a mother, food lover, and naturally free-spirited person. My interest in nutrition began when I was seven years old while volunteering in my family’s soup kitchen—an early experience that connected food with both care and community.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, trying new restaurants, doing yoga, building floral LEGO creations, and finding creative ways to introduce vegetables at home. I’m known for bringing a calm presence, keeping it real, and celebrating the small wins along the way.
